Hook Satisfied files free crochet patterns by the texture their stitches make, so you can choose what a piece will feel like before you choose what to make.
Why feel comes first
Most pattern sites are sorted by the finished object: hats here, blankets there. That is useful once you know what you want to make. It is no help at all with the question a hook actually answers, which is what the fabric will be like: thick and bumpy, ribbed, open, tight, or soft and falling.
So this site sorts by that. Every pattern is read round by round against a short table of stitch names, each round is given the feel its stitches make, and the pattern is filed under the feel most of its rounds share. The whole method is on the five feels page.
What is on the site
Free crochet patterns that first appeared free on other sites, typed out round by round in US terms with the designer's own materials list, abbreviations and notes. Each one links back to the page it came from wherever that page is still known.
Nothing on a pattern page is invented to fill a gap. If the designer gave no stitch count for a round, none is printed. If no source address survived, the page says so and asks for it.
What is not on the site
No ratings, no maker counts, no star reviews, no video, no downloads to pay for and no account to make. The texture map and the feel are computed from the instructions; nothing else about a pattern is judged.
If a pattern is yours
Write to the address on the contact page with the pattern's link. It comes down the same day, or is credited the way you want it credited. No argument either way.
